Every year the Knoxville Symphony League is charged with the mission of raising more than $200,000 for music education, to support the KSO youth orchestras, and to keep our local symphony playing beautiful music. I don’t know if you’re a symphony lover, but I am a HUGE fan of classical music. My mother and my sister are music educators and both of my brothers play an instrument and sing. I, however, do NOT play an instrument and have always been a little jealous of the musical ability of my family members. It has been my pleasure to sing in our church choir off and on since high school.
Ok, now to the Show House! The Symphony League has several different fundraisers throughout the year but my favorite is their annual Show House. They take a new house and allow artists and decorators to go in and gild and glamourize the rooms. Someone described this year’s house as SEXY and I think that is a fitting description. It has a lot of BLING and pizazz! I am more of a country cottage type, myself, but I can appreciate the talent of these creatives and have so enjoyed seeing their work. Because of the sheer SIZE of this home I am going to split this show and tell into two posts. I forgot to take a photo of the outside so here is the sketch provided by the architect.
Now I must show the kitchen. It was absolutely stunning with a Carrera marble island and honed marble countertops. The gas range and refrigerator were completely drool worthy and I must say – They are totally my style! A girl can dream!
Well, you might be thinking, I thought she said it was SEXY? WELLLLLLLLLL……………
Check out this DINING ROOM!
I hope you can tell how amazing the walls are in the dining room. They were done by an artist named William Bell who has trained in Italy. You will also find his work in the master bedroom entryway and the powder bath.
The last area I will show today is the hallway behind the kitchen. It has a stylish desk area and one of the most beautiful laundry rooms I have ever seen! I think I would dirty things up just so I could wash them!
I hope you have enjoyed seeing inside this impressive home and will check back in a few days for the rest of the show! Be sure and click on the Symphony links to find out more about the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, and I hope you will support your local orchestra.
Thank you for your visit!!!!!!!!!!!!!
