A Walk By Mead’s Quarry Lake

I found a new beauty spot in the Knoxville area. It’s called Mead’s Quarry Lake and it is a part of Ijam’s Nature Center.  It is a jewel of a place right in my hometown that I have GREATLY underutilized! I’ve been there several times with school groups as it is a favorite for field trips, but I really had No Idea how extensive the property was and how many things there are to do there. For my #clickaday shots I will show my first photography walk by one of the lakes there. I will be showing more of Ijam’s as I intend to visit there more in the future.

I have to say that this is the first time I have actually shot outside on MANUAL MODE and felt like I knew what to do! Very satisfying!  I still have so much to learn and I may look back at these photos and see all the flaws, but as of today I’m happy with them.

If you live in the area it is worth a visit to this nature center. I would suggest picking a cooler day, however, since it was 93 degrees that day and you can’t swim in this lake. HOT, HOT, HOT!

I am sharing today at the Rurality Blog Hop. Pop over for some lovely photos.

Thank you Karen. It is a pretty place and I just found it! I so appreciate your critique and I am going to look at how to change the header size. That makes a lot of sense. Like I said, I value the BWPipsters opinions. Thank you for the visit!
